We have really been blessed by the Lord with our herdsires over the years through our current selection. We believe that all of them have had the opportunity to make improvements on the LaMancha breed and some of them have had significant impact in both the milk bucket (quantity & qualitiy) and for type/show. Our herd is popular with cheese processors as our herd is one of the most consistent for high rolling average butterfat around. We also pay attention to temperment. Occassionally we release a senior buck for sale. Whether you are serious about showing, professional dairy products or want quality in your bucket at home, consider adding a Fir Meadow buck or buckling to your herd this year!
Current Herdsires, Some reference Herdsires listed below the semen list. Don't miss them, most of them have contributed to our herd.

Henrick first got my attention for his strong long bone yet very flat and dairy and overall nicely correct. His loud pinto markings tipped the scale in me keeping him to breed some does to. People that know me know that I don't keep two bucklings back for myself, but I simply had to as I really love his dam. Looking forward to great things.
His first kid crop is outstanding! Length, dairy character, smooth blending, ooh la la! We like this buck and his contributions so much that we have decided we're going to keep him and use him as much we are able.

We went back to our roots for this very lovely buck whom we believe will be a nice compliment to the breeding program here out of one of our favorite Lucky Star does. This is a very hard buck to fault and there is a lot to say about his pedigree. His temperment is oh so sweet and friendly. We look forward to using him fall of 2017 for 2018 kids.

12 Udders so far we've seen/been told about- 11 wow, one good (8 damlines). They are MILKY with higher butterfat and a breeze to milk, with great temperments... The foreudder blending on his daughters is WOW, and they appear to be prettier in shape, improvement in teat size (either larger/smaller whatever is needed) and beautiful rear attachment. Add that to what we learned the past 2 years- that he is stamping in beautiful general appearance (it seems no matter the damline), nice dairy character, and size- and you can see how excited we are to have this buck in our herd!
A strong, yet dairy, nice buck. Uphill with a pretty front end and correct/wide leg set and open escutcheon arch. This buck definately gets his full 2 points for stature! In 2004 he had 2 paternal sisters in the Spotlight sale. 2006 gave us several lovely daughters on the ground, including a 1st place jr get to show at the D7 lamancha specialty and at Oregon State Fair. He had 2 x 1st in at the Mega Bucks show in Central Point in '06 after a 13 1/2 hour haul while I was farm shopping down here. His son, Thrill!, has 3 jr ch for his owner. 2015 1-05 85 VVV Off to a really nice score!
For years I have been saying that I need to keep a buck out of Yarrow. She is everything the LaMancha was developed for: high butterfat, great temperment and manners, consistent strong milking lactations, hardiness and ease of maintenance. This doe is overweight on hardly any grain yet she is very dairy when you look at her and get your hands on her. I'm hoping she passes on some level of her feed efficiency on through her very beautiful son. "Lew" is just an incredibly amazing looking, very balanced, correct and masculine buck who is very flat boned, long bone patterned, tall, stretching skin, wiiiiide ribbing yet with all the strength you want in dairy character. He reminds me a WHOLE LOT of his grandsire Valiant at this age. Valiant is also his great grandsire on his sire's side and of course I'm pulling Rosine (great great granddam) back in from several generations back to thread through the herd again. We are so thankful to have him!
We only went to one show in 2015 but we received GCH dry legs on daughters Faith and Firenza on his very first kid crop with VVV, V overall and EcVEc, Ec overall on them too! Looking for more great things from Lewie!

This beautiful, balanced, strong buckling ties in very very nicely into our herd in several places quite a few generations back, with lots of new blood sprinkled in in between. He also has a quiet, easy going temperment, which we prize. We are looking for the conformational and pedigree integrity and consistency of Daniel to continue in our quest to provide sound, long lived, productive LaManchas that are a credit to the breed. Lucky Star also has a Hannah son that is producing many fine E mammaries that milk well, we expect Cai to contribute in this manner also. The older he gets, the prettier he matures. We just absolutely love this buck. He streched himself too far foward reaching for hay- his front legs do line up under his withers (something I am PICKY about). He has some of the tighest strongest upright pasterns I have seen on a buck, very open, plenty of bone, very uphill and smooth shouldered and that fancy topline ending in a very very beautiful rump and escutcheon arch. Body clipped him in August 2014 due to our very hot summer, he just calmly stood there and visited with my husband as he held him while I clipped. No need to tie him up or put him in a stanchion. We love this quality. This buck loves hugs and his face rubbed/held. Quite the character!
First kids on the ground in 2014. Absolutely beautiful and wonderful temperments too! I didn't get to show in 2014, but his daughter whom we sold, Fir Meadow DNL Elegance did and she went GCH and BJDIS in August 2014 in NE Washington state! Way to go Ellie and her owner Kristie. Looking for more great things from Daniel.
2015 Daniel is quite the fancy looking two year old with incredible bone yet very flat boned dairy. His yearling milking daughter has a GCH milking leg on her and an RGCH -I only went to one show in 2015. She also appraised LA89 and milks 10.6. Expecting many more great things from Daniel and also kept his 2015 son Forevermore. Daniel is here for reference, we have sold him because we liked and used him so much that he worked himself out of a job here. Lovely kids, hitting La 90/91 at 2 years old and MILK.
We sold Daniel in 2016 due to him becoming very related to most of our herd. We do have one son, Forevermore remaining in the herd (2017) and use him on a limited basis.

Tyrell is such a beautiful buck with a very nice productive and type pedigree. Excellent breed type, long bone pattern, very quiet and gentle and an usual color that will be really fun to play with. Most importantly he is fresh blood for our herd and from a dam I highly admire. Thank-you Bernie for entrusting Tyrell to our herd! We expect great things from him! First daughter in our herd is in milk and she is WOW mammary (Haddasah)! Seeing him add smooth blending, wide flat rumps, nice length. Looks like he may be working here for a long time... So far he's producing black and tans, chamoisee in several colors, and chocolates with white markings. COOL. Unfortunately we lost Tyrell to listeriosis in 2017 so we were unable to get this really beautiful buck appraised now that he is really coming into himself. His genetics are still in our herd.
